What you get

What hand-coded actually means for your site

Most web design firms hand you a WordPress theme and call it a day. We don't. Every site we build starts as a blank file — which means faster load times, fewer security headaches, and no bloat you didn't ask for.

  • Lightning-Fast Load Times

    Fast load times

We consistently hit 90+ on PageSpeed Insights. Most of our sites load in under a second. That's not a trick — it's what happens when there's no unnecessary code.

  • Ironclad Security

    Actually secure

No plugins to update, no database to breach. Static files don't have the attack surface WordPress does. It's not bulletproof, but it's close.

  • SEO that starts on solid ground

Fast sites rank better. Clean code gives Google less to complain about. We build the foundation — the rest depends on the search results, and honestly, that's how it should work.

  • Better ad performance

If you're running Google Ads, a slow site is quietly hurting your Quality Score. Faster load times mean lower cost-per-click and more conversions per dollar.

  • Complete Design Freedom

    No template constraints

You're not picking from a menu of layouts. We build from scratch, so the design fits your business — not the other way around.

  • Built for mobile first

Over half your traffic is probably on a phone. We build for that first, then scale up to desktop.

Hand-coded vs. WordPress

The honest comparison

WordPress works for a lot of things. Fast, secure, lean websites aren't really on that list. Here's how the numbers actually shake out.

Why it matters

Speed isn't a feature. It's the baseline.

Google uses load time as a ranking signal. Visitors bounce from slow sites. Ads perform worse when landing pages are sluggish. A fast site doesn't guarantee anything — but a slow one costs you every day.

  • Every second of delay costs visitors. Studies consistently show higher bounce rates after 3 seconds. We build under 1.

  • Core Web Vitals are a real ranking factor. A clean PageSpeed score doesn't guarantee first page — but it stops speed from working against you.

  • If you're spending money on Google Ads, your Quality Score is tied to landing page experience. A faster site means you're not paying extra for the same clicks.

How it works

Six steps. Four to six weeks. No surprises.

Here's exactly what happens from first call to launch — and what we need from you along the way.

Most projects go live in 4–6 weeks. The main variable is how quickly you can pull together photos, content, and business details. The faster you move, the faster we do.

  • 1. We talk through what you need

A call, not a questionnaire. Tell us what you're building, who it's for, and what's not working with your current setup. Usually 30–45 minutes.

  • 2. We send a proposal. You decide.

After the call, we put together a scope and price. No pressure, no expiring offers. If it makes sense, we move forward. If not, no hard feelings.

  • 3. We design the site

We build a full design mockup — desktop and mobile — based on everything we talked about. This is where the layout and visual direction take shape.

  • 4. You review and approve

We walk you through it on a screen share. You tell us what to change. One round of revisions is standard. We don't write a line of code until you sign off.

  • 5. We build it

Once the design is approved, we hand-code the full site — HTML, CSS, JavaScript, from scratch. No WordPress. No page builders. No shortcuts.

  • 6. We launch it. Then we stay.

We handle hosting, push the site live, and stay on as your team. Updates, new pages, performance monitoring — it's all included in the monthly subscription.

Common questions

What people usually ask before booking

Do you work with businesses outside Philadelphia?

Yes. Most of our process is remote — the call, the design review, everything. We've built sites for businesses in Lancaster, PA and beyond. Location doesn't really matter for what we do.

Why subscription pricing instead of a one-time build fee?

Because a website isn't a one-time thing. Hosting, updates, new pages, performance monitoring — that's ongoing work. $150/mo covers all of it. No surprise invoices when something needs to change.

What do I need to provide?

Photos, your services and pricing, and a clear sense of who your customers are. We handle the copy unless you'd rather write it yourself. The more you can give us upfront, the faster we move.

How long does it actually take?

4–6 weeks for most projects. The main variable is how quickly you can get us photos and content. If you're ready to move fast, so are we.

What's the difference between hand-coded and WordPress?

WordPress runs on a database and a stack of plugins. Hand-coded sites are just files — HTML, CSS, JavaScript. Fewer moving parts means faster load times, fewer security holes, and no maintenance overhead. The tradeoff is you can't edit the site yourself the way you would in WordPress. That's what the subscription is for.

Do you guarantee rankings?

No. Anyone who does is lying. We build sites that give Google nothing to complain about — fast, clean code, solid on-page structure. What you actually rank for depends on your market, your content, and time. We'll be straight with you about what's realistic.

Also worth knowing

A fast site and good SEO go together.

Most clients who launch with us also add our SEO package. It's easier to get the technical foundation right from day one than to bolt it on later — and the site we build is already set up to do the right things. If you're curious what that looks like, we put together a full breakdown.
